Who We Are

James D. Cashion CPA, CVA, CFF, ABV

Mr. Cashion is a principal and a senior financial analyst with Cashion Consulting and Managing Director of the Los Angeles/Pasadena office. He has more than 45 years experience as a Certified Public Accountant, consultant and financial analyst of closely held companies. In addition, he has counseled attorneys and clients extensively regarding the financial aspects of civil litigation matters. Mr. Cashion has particular expertise in family law matters, estate and gift tax planning and valuations. He also has extensive experience in damages and lost profit cases.

Mr. Cashion has been engaged in forensic accounting and litigation support since 1979 and has been involved in hundreds of such matters. He has qualified as an expert witness on numerous occasions and has been appointed as a business appraiser as well as a mediator by judges and commissioners in the Superior Court system. Jim has lectured and written on related subjects.

Mr. Cashion graduated from the University of Southern California in 1965 and was licensed as a California Certified Public Accountant in 1967. He earned the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Jim also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by that organization.

Mr. Cashion is additionally the senior partner in Cashion, Go & Company, LLP, a full-service CPA firm. The firm specializes in closely held businesses and high net worth individuals. In that capacity, Jim advises clients on financial and tax matters and serves as a trustee in numerous trusts.

Brad M. Giron, CVA

Mr. Giron has been an analyst with Cashion Consulting since 2012. He earned a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) certification through the National Association of Certified Analysts (NACVA) and is a member in good standing. Mr. Giron has completed many courses through NACVA as well as other organizations over the last seven years. He has also worked on dozens of valuation engagements for Estate and Gift tax appraisals, as well as ESOP engagements, Discount Studies, shareholder buyouts, buy/sell situations, note valuations and valuations for corporate planning purposes.

Mr. Giron specializes in the estate and gift tax area and has in depth understanding of how to prepare a defensible report. Mr. Giron keeps abreast of the latest court cases and valuation methodologies in order to provide the best possible valuation analysis for tax related engagements
